The announcement of this ride has already sparked speculation throughout park fans, with heavy rumours that this rollercoaster will be themed around the CBeebies character, Bluey who made their first character appearance in the park for the 2024 season. Fans have also noticed yellow markings on the ground surrounding the Postman Pat ride, suggesting this will be the location of the NEW Junior rollercoaster.

The news comes after Alton Towers announced that the swinging ship ride, The Blade, will be removed from the park after 44 long years of service. An Alton Towers spokesperson said “Exciting news, we have submitted a planning application for a brand-new junior coaster in CBeebies land which we hope to open in 2026. If approved, this new attraction will be perfect for our youngest thrill-seekers and their families to enjoy together. We can’t wait to share more.”

Our Thoughts:

Firstly, we are always glad to see news regarding new investment at Alton Towers. This is one of our local parks and it is important that the park regularly invests to secure its future. Alton Towers have one of the best children’s areas in the UK Theme Park market and it is great to see that they plan to expand on their current offering. We have both said for a while now that CBeebies land needs some investment and in particular a new attraction. It’s great to see that this investment is coming in the form of a junior rollercoaster. We believe this investment is a great choice by the park and will attract more families to come to the park in 2026 and future years.

As of yet, there is very little information regarding the rollercoaster manufacturer and rollercoaster type, however it has been said that the rollercoaster will require a maintenance building, suggesting this rollercoaster will be much larger than their currently rollercoaster in CBeebies land, Octonauts.

We will keep you updated as soon as the plans are submitted and appear to the public. Stay tuned for further updates.
