Chessington World of Advenutes is currently the UK Theme Park hotspot for new investments. The Theme Park has announced that the Old Mexicana themed area will be re-themed into a NEW children’s area which has been code name Project Play.
Plans for Project Play have been submitted by the park and the area is set to be a fun and playful area aimed at families with young children which makes it an ideal place for little adventurers to visit with their parents.

This NEW area is set to be home to a NEW Rollercoaster which is being designed for younger guests. This is something which is much needed in every theme park, and in particular, Chessington since Scorpion Express has been left SBNO (Standing But Not Operating) for a few years now. The area will also feature 2 BRAND NEW children’s flat rides as well as a relocation of the Jungle Bus ride from Wild Asia into the new area. These new attractions promise hours of fun and entertainment for young children and their families.

As well as the 4 attractions in this new themed area, there will also be plenty of NEW play equipment for the younger ones which will all be themed to fit with the area. Of course, this area will also have food and beverage units meaning the whole family will be able to get tasty snacks and refreshments whilst to young at heart play and ride around the new area. The area will also be home to a unique shop which will offer merchandise related to the lands colourful theme.
Our Thoughts:
Mexicana has felt rather stale and dingy for the past few years with Scorpion Express remaining closed after its small fire and technical difficulties. The park has felt like it has lacked a proper children’s area, and with project play, this is all about to change. We are so glad to see that the area will be heavily themed and is not one being done on the cheap. A NEW rollercoaster will certainly draw young families into the park with the addition of 2 NEW flat rides. I’m sure many families are going to have so much fun in this area and create many memories in the future.
