Alton Towers REVEAL Layout for NEW Rollercoaster!

Writer: Jacob KenyonJacob Kenyon

Plans have finally been released for the NEW rollercoaster which has been proposed for the Junior section of the Theme Parl, CBeebies land. Architectural plans have been submitted from Alton Towers via Smytheman Architectural, showing the layout of the proposed junior rollercoaster, queue line, station building and maintenance building.

From the plans show in the image below, we can see the layout of the rollercoaster is rather basic, with the layout being set as a large oval around the location which currently homes the Postman Pat car ride. The layout of this new rollercoaster looks quite similar to Duplo Dino coaster at Legoland `Windsor. Also from the plans, it can be seen the boarding point to the ride and maintenance area will be built in a combined building which houses both. It’s interesting to note that the actual queue line looks longer in length than the actual rollercoaster ride itself!

Also from these plans, the area around the rollercoaster looks to be heavily themed meaning younger guests will be immersed from the second they enter the queue line. The theme of the ride is heavily rumoured to be around the character Bluey, which for those who don’t know is currently heavily popular at the moment with CBeebies.

Our Thoughts:

Although the layout seems quite basic, we have got to remember that this rollercoaster is not a thrill coaster, it’s a junior rollercoaster. This is a rollercoaster which could be the first rollercoaster for young children, so the actual layout in our opinion is very well suited for the target audience. I’m sure Alton towers will do a great job of the theming and overall finishing of the rollercoaster area meaning young guests will be immersed from the get go. We believe this is a good investment for Alton towers as the park is for the entire family, not just for the thrill seekers. The park will certainly draw more guests in with a new addition to CBeebies land as the area tends to pick up large queues, especially during the summer holiday season and the area was screaming for a New rollercoaster!
